Important Camping & Canoe Trip Details

We are reserved for the camping/canoeing trip starting the evening of the 29th of August and leaving the morning of the 1st of Sept (three nights camping) at Sleepy Bear Campground in Empire, MI. We are located very close to the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Park. This is a rustic site with modern facilities in the center of the campground.
We will do the canoe trip on Saturday and that leaves Sunday to do whatever you wish - visit wineries, go to Traverse City, hit a casino, do the beach, and even go to a drive in movie theater!
The camping is for a group site at $375 for the whole weekend and we need to maintain a presence for the entire weekend. If 20 people go, we are looking at $18.75 per person for the three nights. That is a pretty good deal! To keep it simple, if you camp, we’re splitting the cost per person, NOT per person per night since we have to keep the site all three nights to keep the reservation.
The canoe and kayaks have to be paid in full before the trip and they only allow a few boats to be cancelled before sticking me with the remainder. Please contact Shawn by the end of the day Sunday (3rd August) if you are going on the trip, if you want to canoe, if you want to kayak.
To keep things simple,
Camping only: $18.75 per person, (approx.)
Canoeing only: $24 per person
Kayaking only: $39 per person
Camping + Canoeing: $42.75
Camping + Kayak: $57.75
Make checks payable to the Kalamazoo Jaycees. CALL OR E-MAIL SHAWN BEFORE THE MORNING OF THE 4th (if he hasn’t spoken to you by then.) If you commit to this trip by telling him you are going and later cancel, he cannot guarantee all your money back since the river outfitter has a strict cancellation policy. Shawn has to reserve the boats on Monday.
