“Jack Johnson’s Battle Creek Visits” won First Place in the Philo T. Farnsworth Video Festival in the category of Public Awareness. The award ceremony is Friday, October 16 down in Ohio. Mike Salerno and Chris Fucile are going to accept the award on behalf of the Jaycee TV team and the Kalamazoo Jaycees.

The episode is about world heavyweight boxing champion Jack Johnson, who visited Battle Creek on several occasions – the most historical visit being his arrest at the Grand Trunk Train Depot on January 14, 1913, as he was attempting to flee the United States.
