Our chapter is competing against the Mt. Pleasant Jaycees for the title of Victorious Chapter and baked goods from the defeated chapter. Please clean out your cars, couch, pockets, purses and return the bottles that you have been collecting for a great cause!
Both chapters are collecting pennies (any denomination of money will be accepted) next week for the Amy Otteman Nurse Education Endowment. Amy Otteman was from Mt. Pleasant, she graduated from Bronson School of Nursing and was a nurse at Bronson Hospital. Amy died of a stroke at the age of 24.
The scholarship was created for students have to either be going into a medical profession or be a basketball or track athlete. Students also are required to carry a grade point average between 2.8 and 3.5 because, that was the student Amy was.
Kalamazoo Jaycees bring your donation to the GMM this week. We will also be donating one day of tips from Island Festival to the cause.
