Help out at the World Expo of Beer

Article posted on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 2:21 pm by Eric the Web Nerd

The Frankenmuth Jaycees invite everyone to experience the 2008 World Expo of Beer! Truly the largest International beer sampling event in Michigan. Providing more than 10,000 participants the opportunity to choose from samples of more than 150 beers and showcasing many of the outstanding breweries we have in our great state.

This year we’re sweetening the deal for your Chapter to organize and send volunteers:

4-9 Volunteers = $200 donation to your Chapter
10-14 Volunteers = $500 donation to your Chapter
15+ Volunteers = $750 donation to your Chapter
Jaycee Chapter with the most volunteers = Bonus $500 donation to your Chapter

This is both an effort to say thank you for your assistance in growing our event and an investment designed to take it to the next level.

Volunteer tasks include pouring beer samples, selling beer tickets, and working admissions. The shifts for volunteers are:

Friday, 5/16 (4:30 - 10:00)
Saturday, 5/17 (2:30 - 6:30)
Saturday, 5/17 (6:00 - 10:00)

Besides the financial incentives, each volunteer receives a WEB volunteer t-shirt, free admission to the festival and free beverages (water, soda, beer) in the WEB Hospitality Area after your shift. Due to the nature of the festival, you do need to arrive on time and work your full shift.

Attached is the listing of breweries from 2007. Many will be returning this year and we have some new breweries participating too! Our website will be updated with the 2008 breweries as we get closer to the event.

If you have questions, please let me know. Or, sign up your chapter through the 2008 WEB Volunteer Coordinators, Melissa or Jason at FIS@TIR.COM

Hope that all is well in Kalamazoo and we’d love to have you check out our event this Spring!
