Cancer Jeans Work Day

Please join us at the Bocade household between 12pm - 4pm on Saturday, May 17 for an artistic endeavor to raise money for cancer research. We will be decorating blue jeans to represent different types of cancer.

The jeans will then be displayed during the Relay for Life activities planned for May 31- June 1, 2008 at the Air Zoo. The idea is that by aggregating the money in our ‘Jeans,’ we can help fund research to help those with cancer in their ‘Genes.’

Because most of us know somebody who has been diagnosed with or succumbed to cancer, jeans will can be decorated to represent the individual types of cancer we wish to highlight - leukemia, lymphoma, prostate, breast, etc.

If you plan on attending, please bring any materials that you believe may be helpful – scissors, fabric swatches, paintbrushes, buttons, ornamental items, etc. If you happen to have extra blue jeans that you wish to donate, please bring them along.

Depending upon the results of the first work day, it is possible that we may have a follow-up work day during the “Relay-A-Go-Go” BBQ on the 24th. Please call Dorothy with any questions 269/744-1242.
