The Government Road Trip will be “Lighting the Way,” North, that is. On Saturday, June 28th, we are taking a road trip to the Silver Lake, Ludington and Manistee areas of West Michigan.
At each of these stops is at least one lighthouse. The opportunity to enter the lighthouses and walk the spiral staircase to the tower is available at two of them. The third is a pretty place for sunsets. If you are interested in learning more about the history and significance of lighthouses in Michigan, and do not mind walking across sand dunes, up spiral staircases or entering towers with limited room (but breathtaking views), then this could be the road trip for you!
