We will be having a family-friendly “Relay-A-Go-Go” Barbecue to support our Relay for Life efforts. The event will kick off around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.
BBQ will be held at the Ploski home. Contact Kevin or Krista for directions.
We will be having a workday at the Relay-A-Go-Go BBQ between 2pm - 5pm on Saturday, May 24 for an artistic endeavor to raise money for cancer research. This is not mandatory for those attending the BBQ, but is an opportunity to participate in the Cancer Jeans project.
We are decorating blue jeans to represent different types of cancer. The jeans will then be displayed during the Relay for Life activities planned for May 31- June 1, 2008 at the Air Zoo. The idea is that by aggregating the money in our ‘Jeans,’ we can help fund research to help those with cancer in their ‘Genes.’
Because most of us know somebody who has been diagnosed with or succumbed to cancer, jeans will can be decorated to represent the individual types of cancer we wish to highlight - leukemia, lymphoma, prostate, breast, etc. We already have nine pairs decorated, and the results are amazing. I will bring them along for inspiration.
There will be materials available for folks to use, but please bring any materials that you believe may be helpful - scissors, fabric swatches, paintbrushes, buttons, ornamental items, etc. If you happen to have extra blue jeans that you wish to donate, please bring them along as well.
Please call Dorothy with any questions 269-744-1242.
