On Tuesday, August 26, the L.A.D.Y. Program will be instructing women on self-defense using martial arts techniques. L.A.D.Y. is an acronym for Learn About Defending Yourself, and that is exactly what you’ll learn in this class.
For a $10 donation you will learn basic self-defense techniques that any woman can use in any situation. The session will take place from 6:30 – 8:30 PM at The Portage Community Center, 325 E. Centre Ave in Portage (next to the Dairy Queen).
Environmental, behavioral and verbal self-defense are covered in the class. However the bulk of the class confronts scenarios in which a threat is present and unavoidable.
