Personal and professional growth

The Jaycees have always been about improving the personal and professional lives of its members - whether its serving their community, picking up a new hobby, gaining management skills that can lead to promotion, or learning about a new culture.

As part of the Jaycees philosophy, we focus on five main areas of development:

  • Community Development - The Kalamazoo Jaycees have a long tradition of service to their community.
  • Individual Development - We provide opportunities for individual members to realize their personal potential by learning new skills.
  • Management Development - Our organization gives its members the chance to improve their management skills.
  • Membership Development - Activities that allow current Jaycees to get together and to welcome new potential members.
  • International Development - The Jaycees enhance their members’ knowledge of different cultures and countries around the world.

Networking

When you become a member of the Kalamazoo Jaycees, not only will you be meeting young professionals in the Kalamazoo area, you gain membership in the Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce.

Fun!

The Kalamazoo Jaycees have lots of fun with a wide variety of activities. Sometimes we meet at members’ residences; sometimes we meet at restaurants and other locations around the area. We will also travel to other parts of Michigan for conventions and other activities (canoe trips, Cedar Point, etc.).
